Programs result in over $15 billion in savings for utility customers
Spokane, WA — April 25, 2016 — Ecova, a leading global energy and sustainability management company, today announced that in partnership with its utility clients it has delivered 129 terawatt hours (TWh) of energy savings over the last twelve years, the lifetime of its programs―including 21 TWh of savings in 2015 alone.
This lifetime savings of 129 TWh is equivalent to displacing the production from 51 power plants for one year, averting the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions from 207 million barrels of oil consumed, or preventing 89 million tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) from entering the atmosphere.
“Utilities are facing a level of disruptive change they’ve never seen,” said Jana Schmidt, president and chief executive officer for Ecova. “Analytics, customer engagement and a sophisticated understanding of how to influence purchasing decisions are essential elements to reaching desired savings goals. The 129 TWh of energy saved is a testament to our work to make a difference and drive verifiable savings.”
